Student chef placing marshmallows on a skewerThe APS After-School System is a collection of afterschool providers that offer care to students in grades K-5 with access to physically and emotionally-safe spaces. This system is being overseen by an APS Afterschool Coordinator and Advocate who monitor and support partnerships between schools and their selected afterschool provider.

APS after-school programs are inclusive, provide students with more opportunities to establish positive relationships with adults and peers, and offer many ways for students to engage in different enriching activities while providing parents/guardians peace of mind that their child(ren) are in a safe place after school. APS currently partners with Boys and Girls Club, Innovation Learning, and YMCA and operates its internal afterschool program COMPASS in partnership with the City of Aurora.

Thanks to Aurora voters who passed the APS 2018 mill levy override, we expanded and will continue to broaden our after-school system! The mill levy override funding provides us with additional resources to create new opportunities and partnerships.
