We’re proud to spotlight the latest Superintendent's Powering Potential Award recipients!
Tim Lindeen | IT Technician, Hinkley High School
We are proud to recognize Tim for the energy, generosity, and commitment he brings to his school community. From day one, Tim has jumped in wherever help was needed by strengthening the school’s website and social media presence, helping launch the school store, and continually looking for ways to improve systems and support staff. He has gone above and beyond by volunteering to attend PLCs and train teachers on integrating iPads with Boxlights, creating more flexibility and movement in classrooms. Tim is also a dedicated coach, supporting students through girls' flag football, wrestling, and football, while consistently stepping up to cover duties and assist with tech needs. His willingness to serve makes a real difference, and his impact is felt by students, staff, and the entire school community.
Erin Carter | CLDE Teacher Leader, Vassar Elementary School
We are proud to recognize Erin for her exceptional leadership as an educator and CLDE Teacher Leader. Erin is deeply aligned to our district strategic plan and to Vassar’s mission and vision, leading by example through high levels of student engagement and care. She builds strong communities of learners, supporting students to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Erin is also a trusted coach and mentor, facilitating effective PLCs, co-developing professional learning, and supporting leadership in meaningful ways. This year, she has gone above and beyond to support a new teacher, investing time and care while continuing to lead her own classroom and coaching work. The impact is visible in classrooms, with stronger student writing, increased rigor, and growing confidence. Erin truly embodies what it means to be an APS superstar.
Sarah Austin | Health Services Coordinator
We are proud to recognize Sarah for her leadership and unwavering commitment to student safety. Sarah led the design and launch of the Heart Safe Schools program, transforming how APS prepares for cardiac emergencies. Grounded in urgency and data, she helped our staff understand that when lives are at stake, minutes matter. Through clear communication and strong cross-department collaboration, Sarah built a sustainable, district-wide CPR and First Aid model that empowers schools, nurses, and staff to respond with confidence and clarity. By removing health barriers that interfere with learning, Sarah’s work advances our mission and ensures our students are safe, supported, and able to thrive.
Keep the love going, APS staff! Nominate a barrier breaker for the next Powering Potential Award!
