The Aurora Public Schools Board of Education approved placing 2024 Bond and Capital Mill Levy measures on the November ballot during its Aug. 6 meeting. These measures would mean a no net tax increase for Aurora voters and would fund many critical new buildings, building improvements and programming opportunities for our community.
To inform voters about what a potential 2024 Bond Program would fund, we are pleased to share our new interactive map, which allows you to explore Destination APS. The map showcases our unique school offerings as well as the many improvements and enhancements that schools would receive pending voter approval in November 2024.
How-to-Navigate: This user-friendly map features pins for all of our schools and coming soon schools. You can filter by bond theme, type of school or zoom into a certain neighborhood. By clicking on a pin, you will be directed to a dedicated school page that highlights important information about the school and the specific improvement projects that a bond measure would fund for the school.
The bond projects are thoughtfully categorized into four themes. The themes were based on the needs and priorities identified by our community. They include:
- Enhanced Health, Safety and Security: Ensuring our schools are safe and secure for all students and staff.
- Equitable Future Planning: Planning for the future with equity in mind, ensuring all students have access to high-quality learning environments.
- Innovative Learning Opportunities: Creating spaces and opportunities that foster creativity, collaboration and cutting-edge learning experiences.
- State-of-the-Art Technology: Providing modern technology to prepare our students for the future.
You are encouraged to explore the map and see what exciting bond projects are planned for your school. Together, we can provide our students with the best possible learning environments to power their potential!
