Will your child be five years old on or before October 1, 2026? If so, it’s time to get ready for one of childhood’s biggest milestones—Kindergarten! The first day of Kindergarten is a big deal, not only for your child, but also for you. New faces. New environments. New routines. It’s a brave leap into unchartered territory, and APS is here to guide you every step of the way.

After this sneak peek, take the next step and experience Kindergarten in person! On Friday, April 3, schools across the district will host a “Getting Ready for Kindergarten” event for families to step inside their child’s prospective school and see what Kindergarten is like firsthand. Families can witness a Kindergarten class in session, meet Kindergarten teachers and school leaders and gather helpful resources. Visit
