Just a few weeks after his high school graduation, Joshua Gallien is now preparing to move to Greeley where he hopes to be a two-sport star for the Bears of the University of Northern Colorado (UNC).

Joshua is moving to his new school on June 13 to get a jump on workouts this summer with UNC's football program. As a featured wide receiver and cornerback for Vista PEAK Preparatory, he was able to earn a football scholarship at UNC where he plans to focus on becoming a defensive standout.

In addition to his success on the football field, Joshua also left an impressive legacy as a track star at Vista PEAK. In the Class 5A boys state competition in mid-May, Joshua became Vista PEAK's first-ever state champion in boys track. He won the 400 meters with a time of 47.03 - more than two-tenths faster than the second-place finisher.

At the same state competition, Joshua also incredibly placed 5th in the 200 meters and 7th in the 100 meters. At UNC, he hopes to run sprints for the Bears track team along with becoming a fixture on the football team.

Academically, Joshua will major in exercise and sport science with a goal of becoming a physical therapist or a sports trainer. He's thrilled to start this new chapter and can't wait to set foot on UNC's campus this month. Congratulations Joshua!
