We are excited to share that the APS Board of Education has approved the District Conventional School Calendars for both the 2026–27 and 2027–28 school years.
As part of the calendar development process, families and staff were invited to share feedback through our annual engagement surveys in October 2025. We appreciate everyone who took the time to participate and help inform this work. Approving calendars in advance allows families and staff to plan ahead.
Below are several key dates from the 2026–27 school year we want to highlight.
First Day of School
- Thursday, August 6, 2026: Grades 1–12
- Monday, August 10, 2026: Preschool and Kindergarten
Last Day of School
- Wednesday, May 26, 2027: Preschool
- Thursday, May 27, 2027: Grades K–12
Major Breaks and Vacations (No Classes)
- Fall Vacation: October 12–16, 2026
- Thanksgiving Vacation: November 23–27, 2026
- Winter Vacation: December 21, 2026, through January 1, 2027
- Spring Vacation: March 15–19, 2027
Holidays (District Closed)
- Labor Day: September 7, 2026
- Thanksgiving: November 26–27, 2026
- Martin Luther King Jr. Day: January 18, 2027
- President’s Day: February 15, 2027
- Memorial Day: May 31, 2027
- Juneteenth: June 19, 2027
