Approving Technology Requests on the Learn Platform

Aurora Public Schools staff members and prospective technology vendors:

All software and hardware  in Aurora Public Schools must be approved in the Learn Platform before making a request to purchase or use regardless if it is free or not.  All programs, software and applications (apps) used by district staff will be regularly reviewed by the APS Division of Technology, Risk Management and the Legal Office to ensure they comply with district legal requirements and align with current curriculum and instructional goals, student data privacy, current software licensing and digital accessibility compliance.

Why does all technology have to be approved on the Learn Platform?

• Make sure purchases can be fully supported
• Confirm the ability to integrate student data and ensure data privacy
• Confirm that the product adheres to HB21-1110 digital accessibility requirements
• Provide a Centralized Hub for the entire software acquisition process
• Streamline the location for contracts, renewal information, DPAs, COI, Accessibility agreements
• Avoid EULA violations
• Visibility for what we have and don’t have- avoid duplicates
