Gifted learners have unique cognitive, emotional, and social needs and deserve targeted and individualized services. We amplify the voice of gifted and high potential learners by advocating for their needs, educating educators, and involving families and the community to inspire all students to challenge the edge of their potential and embrace excellence.
The Aurora Public Schools Office of Advanced Academics & Gifted Services (AAGS) serves eligible gifted and talented and high potential students who, when compared to others of similar age, demonstrate high leadership or creative potentials or high performance academically, intellectually, and in the performing arts.
Aurora Public Schools strives to use a competency based system, so that all learners, including our high-ability learners, can accelerate through various performance levels based on the speed and depth by which standards are mastered. As a team, we believe all students deserve an education that will provide meaningful growth academically, socially and emotionally.
