About Aurora Quest K-8
Aurora Quest K-8 is a specialized gifted magnet school within Aurora Public Schools. Our mission is to support gifted and high-potential learners through a rigorous, advanced curriculum that provides authentic learning experiences alongside peers of similar abilities.
Who is Eligible to Apply?
Current K–7th Grade Students: Applicants must be formally identified as Gifted and Talented or High Potential prior to applying.
- Not identified yet? If your child is currently an APS student in grades K–7 and is not yet formally identified, please notify your school’s Gifted & Talented (GT) Facilitator or classroom teacher immediately so testing can be completed before the application deadline. Applications cannot be accepted without formal identification.
Early Entrance (Kindergarten & 1st Grade): Highly advanced young learners may apply for early entrance if they meet Colorado Exceptional Children's Educational Act (ECEA) guidelines:
- Age Requirements: Must be age 4 by October 1 for Kindergarten, or age 5 by October 1 for 1st Grade.
- Formal Identification & BOE: Must be formally identified as gifted under ECEA criteria and meet accelerated placement requirements demonstrated through an auditable Body of Evidence (evaluating ability, achievement, social-emotional readiness, and school learning skills).
