Family Liaison-Special Populations (FLSP)

Our Family Liaisons for Special Populations speak ten languages: Nepali, French, Swahili, Sango, Burmese, Karen, Dari and Pashto, Spanish, and English. The FLSPs ensure our communities are being reached and supported at school events (Parent Coffees, Parent Teacher Conferences, Back to School night, etc.) and support students and families navigating through APS school systems. We currently only serve the Community Schools but will expand to support other schools in the future.
Health Navigation
Our FLSPs offer language-specific health navigation and community resource support for families. Following a closed-loop referral system, the FLSPs ensure that all students' and families' health needs are met.
Parent Leadership: Parents in Action (PIA)
Our FLSPs are currently co-facilitating our Parents in Action initiative. PIA is a program that engages and empowers parents to organize as agents of change in their child's school, creating authentic parent leadership opportunities for parents of all backgrounds.
