📚 Leaders are Readers
We invite you to inspire a love of reading in our young students! Join us for the Leaders are Readers program and share your favorite children's book with an APS elementary school classroom. With just a 30-minute commitment, you'll make a huge impact on our students' literacy journey. Your participation will help us ignite a lifelong passion for reading. The schedule is flexible, and we will find a slot that works for you.

Want to make a real difference in your school community? Join the School Accountability Committee (SAC) or the District Accountability Committee (DAC) and help shape the future of education in our schools! These committees give parents, community members, and staff a voice in key decisions, including school improvement plans, budget priorities, and academic goals. It's a meaningful way to stay informed, share your perspective, and work alongside school and district leaders to support student success.

🥕 Farmers Markets
Help us provide fresh, healthy food to our community! We're recruiting friendly volunteers to create a welcoming atmosphere at our school's food markets. With a flexible schedule and just over an hour of your time, you can greet and guide families, ensuring everyone has a positive experience. We have multiple markets before the end of the school year and throughout the summer, so you can choose a date that works for you! This works best as a group volunteer event. We can accommodate 5-10 volunteers per market.

🎉 Back to School Kickoff for the 26-27 school year (Tentative Date-August 1, 2026)
We'd like to formally invite you to volunteer at our annual APS Back to School Kickoff! This beloved event brings together over 15,000 APS students and families to celebrate the start of the new school year. Each year, we give out over 5,500 backpacks with school supplies, providing immunizations, connecting families with their school leaders, offering free food, and sharing valuable community resources. As you can imagine, an event of this size takes a small army to execute.
