Applications for the Aurora Quest K-8 School are now open for the 2026–2027 School Year.
Important Dates & Deadlines
Monday, November 3, 2025: Online applications open for all interested families.
Friday, January 30, 2026 at 5:00 PM: ALL Applications due.
Mid-February 2025: Notification (accepted or wait-listed) will be sent to parents via email.
Cognitive Testing & Screening
Aurora Quest is a magnet school serving gifted and high potential students. All applicants applying for 1st through 8th grade must be formally identified as a student who will benefit from gifted and talented services before applying to Aurora Quest.
If your child is not already identified as gifted and talented or high potential, you must work with your child's current school to initiate the necessary identification process. Please contact your current school's Gifted and Talented Facilitator to start this evaluation. If your child is enrolled in an Aurora Public School, here is the current list of Gifted and Talented Facilitators.
Kindergarten Identification
If you are a family applying for entrance to Kindergarten only, the Office of Advanced Academics & Gifted Services (AAGS) will work with you to screen your child for gifted services.
The AAGS Office will contact you directly to schedule your child's required gifted assessment.
Notification of Acceptance
Mid-February 2026, families who receive a spot at Aurora Quest (either accepted or wait-listed) will be notified.
Out-of-District Enrollment Note
If your family is from outside the district and your child is accepted to Aurora Quest for the 2026–2027 school year, you will need to complete APS registration.
Relevant information regarding this process will be shared with you should your child receive a spot at Aurora Quest.
