Technology innovations happen fast and especially in the automotive industry. That’s why it’s important for students training to be automotive technicians to work on the newest vehicles possible.
The current cohort of soon-to-be technicians in the Pickens Technical College automotive program were grinning ear-to-ear when they saw what’s in store for their school. Ford Motor Company in partnership with Larry H. Miller Ford Lakewood donated a 2023 Lincoln Aviator to Pickens.
The luxury vehicle will allow students to start training on the latest Ford systems so they’re even better prepared to enter the workforce when they graduate.
The Aviator comes from a Chicago dealership where it suffered some minor flood damage. Since it can no longer be sold, Ford decided to reroute it to a career and technical education school (CTE) where it would greatly benefit students.
Representatives from Ford and the Larry H. Miller dealership recently delivered the SUV to Pickens Tech and handed over the keys to the students. They also provided some information about the vehicle and explained opportunities for students to work as Ford technicians.
