Rita's primary role is managing the District's environmental compliance programs. Rita's responsibilities include coordination of the asbestos, lead and chemical management programs, project management, stormwater, indoor air quality, and assessing applicability and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and training.

water, radon, lead, lab safety and chemical hygiene, confined space entry, bio-hazardous
waste, and vector control. Responsible for the maintenance, repair, installation, inspection,
record-keeping, and overall design of all building materials that contain asbestos or lead.
Provide assistance and support on environmental and safety issues and conducts training
programs for District personnel regarding all environmental topics. May assist with translation
and/or communication using second language skills when possible.

Responsible for supporting the department by performing administrative and secretarial
functions, which may include tracking employee time, training employees, entering and
distributing data, coordinating and/or completing department projects, answering phones,
processing orders, scheduling meetings, maintaining files, typing correspondence and
completing reports.  Assist with Site Inspections, Water Sampling, Radon Sampling, UST Monitoring, Procurement Management, and Asbestos Management Plan updates.

Responsible for performing a variety of tasks in support of the District’s Integrated Pest
Management (IPM) Program, including responding to pest-related work orders and issues by
applying, installing, documenting and monitoring treatments, such as rodenticide, herbicide,
pesticide, and traps. Responsibilities also include supporting the environmental team in
performing a variety of tasks related to the environmental compliance program involving
asbestos, hazardous materials and waste, storm water, radon, site inspections, and other environmental regulated
district programs. Perform or assist in emergency response activities involving containment
and/or clean up.
