About Health First Colorado (Medicaid) and CHP+
- Health First Colorado (Medicaid): Colorado’s Medicaid program offers free or low-cost health insurance based on income and resources. Eligibility is automatically granted to those receiving SSI or participating in Colorado Works (TANF).
- CHP+: A low-cost insurance option for families who earn too much for Medicaid but can’t afford private insurance. Some fees and minimal co-pays may apply.

The Medicaid Department at Aurora Public Schools is here to help your family access essential health coverage! Our team of Medicaid Family Liaisons assists families with applying for free or low-cost health insurance through Medicaid/CHP+. We act as a bridge between Aurora Public Schools and Health First Colorado (Medicaid).
How We Can Help:
- One-on-One Appointments: Schedule a meeting at your child’s school to complete a Medicaid/CHP+ application.
- Application Support: Assistance with new applications, reapplications, and redeterminations.
- Additional Resources: Help with accessing dental care, vision exams, food assistance, and more.
- Emergency Coverage: As a Certified Presumptive Eligibility site, we can process emergency applications for temporary coverage.
