About Our Program:

Learn more about what we do and how we support our community.

Aurora Public Schools (APS) participates in the School Health Services Medicaid Program, allowing us to seek reimbursement from Health First Colorado (Medicaid). These funds support eligible students with IEPs or care plans who receive health and medical services at school. Our dedicated team includes nurses, occupational and physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, mental health providers, and paraeducators.

Our Mission and Values

Our mission is to bridge the gap in unmet health needs across our district by serving all students with compassion and empathy. We prioritize:

  • Transparency
  • Accountability
  • Collaboration

We believe that every student should have access to health services and resources that support their well-being. Healthy kids, better future!

How We Use Medicaid Reimbursement Funds

Reimbursement funds are reinvested to expand health services for all students throughout the district. These funds help us:

  • Provide vision and hearing screenings
  • Assist families with Medicaid enrollment
  • Offer medication and dental services for uninsured students
  • Purchase specialized transportation buses
  • And more!

These initiatives ensure that every APS student has the support they need to thrive.
