Aurora Public Schools has developed a Stormwater Management Program intended to reduce pollution entering the local waterways. As stormwater flows over driveways, lawns, and sidewalks, it picks up debris, chemicals, sediment, and other pollutants. Stormwater can flow into a storm sewer system or directly into a lake, stream, river, wetland, or coastal water. Anything that enters a storm sewer system is discharged untreated into the water bodies we use for swimming, fishing, and drinking water. Polluted runoff is the nation's greatest threat to clean water.
If you witness illegal dumping on school grounds, please contact the Environmental Compliance Branch immediately at 303-367-3000 x28682 or after-hours call security at 303-367-3060.
