Mandatory Open Enrollment Begins May 1

We are excited to announce the upcoming Open Enrollment Period, which is mandatory for all eligible employees. Mark your calendars and prepare to make important decisions about your benefits!

Aurora Public Schools works diligently each year to provide a benefits program that will allow employees to create a benefits package that is right for you and your family. This year, open enrollment will be from May 1, 2025 to May 31, 2025. Any new elections or changes will become effective July 1, 2025 and will continue through June 30, 2026.

All elections must be submitted by May 31 in Oracle Cloud. Elections submitted after this date will not be accepted.

Have questions regarding your benefits? Please join us by attending a Benefits Fair! Knowledgeable representatives from the Benefits team and our benefit plan vendors will be available to provide information and answer questions about our benefit plans and programs.

Here’s what you need to know about Open Enrollment:
  • Enrollment Dates: May 1-May 30
  • Mandatory Participation: Open Enrollment is required for all eligible employees due to important plan changes, premium changes, and plan design changes. It is crucial to review your options and make necessary updates to ensure you have the coverage that best meets your needs. If you do not enroll you will lose coverage!
  • Information Sessions: Want to learn more about Open Enrollment and explore your options? Join us at one of our in-person or virtual information sessions listed at right or browse our monthly event calendar.  Plus, we're holding raffles for employees who attend our events. New Changes to Benefits for 2025-26!

🩺 Medical

New Plan Changes! APS will now offer three (3) medical plans through Kaiser Permanente and UnitedHealthcare for the 2025-26 plan year. Your choices are a Buy-Up Plan, a Mid-Plan, and a Base High Health Deductible Plan (HDHP). For more information on each plan, please review your benefits enrollment guide.

🏦 Health Savings Account (HSA)

Annual IRS maximum contribution limits have increased for the 2025-26 plan year.

  • Employee-Only Coverage: $4,300
  • Employee plus one or more dependent: $8,550
  • Catch-Up Contribution (Employees age 55+): $1,000

💰 Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)

Annual IRS maximum contribution limits have increased for the 2025-26 plan year.

  • Healthcare FSA: $3,300
  • Limited Purpose FSA: $3,300
  • Dependent Care FSA: $5,000 ($2,500 if married and filing separately)

APS has partnered with ComPsych to offer the new wellbeing coaching program. This program is designed to meet individuals “where they are” in their health and wellness journey. You can connect with one of ComPsych’s certified coaches to develop a plan that help motivates, educates, and modifies your everyday behaviors.
