Aurora Public Schools Community:
As we wrap up the first half of the 2025-26 school year, I want to express my deep appreciation for the energy, care and commitment that define our APS community. Every day I see examples of students pushing themselves to learn something new, staff members supporting one another, and families partnering with us to create strong learning environments. These moments remind me how powerful it is when a community moves forward together.
To help spread a little holiday cheer, I invite you to watch a short holiday message from me below.
The month of December invites us to slow down, reflect on our progress and reconnect with what matters most. However you choose to celebrate this season, I hope it brings you time to rest, recharge and enjoy the company of the people who mean the most to you. I also encourage families and staff to take good care of their mental and emotional well-being and to seek support whenever needed. Here are some helpful resources available to our community:
Please take a moment to note our upcoming schedule. There are no classes on Friday, Dec. 19. Winter Break begins Monday, Dec. 22 and continues through Monday, Jan. 5. Tuesday, Jan. 6 is a professional release day for staff, which means students will not have school. Classes resume for most students on Wednesday, Jan. 7. Individual school calendars may vary. Please check your school calendar for exact dates. Updated calendars are always available at aurorak12.org/calendars.
As we look ahead to 2026, I feel hopeful and excited about the work we will continue together. Thank you for your partnership and for your ongoing dedication to our students and to one another.
I wish you a peaceful holiday season and a bright start to the new year!
