Aurora Public Schools conducts an annual job description and salary review to stay competitive in the metro-area market. We partner with Oehm Consulting Services (OCS), an independent firm, to provide objective market analysis and recommendations.

As part of the process, employees and supervisors review job descriptions for accuracy based on current duties, education, and licensure. Revised descriptions are submitted to OCS for market comparisons with similar districts.

Key factors include minimum qualifications, essential duties, and supervisory responsibilities.
Salary adjustments are considered when roles trend 5% above or below market for 2–3 consecutive years and are typically applied at the start of the next contract year.

The final decisions of salary adjustments are made by the Division of Human Resources in collaboration with division heads.
